This qualification provides a trade outcome in wall and floor tiling for residential and commercial construction work. The qualification has core unit of competency requirements that cover common skills for the construction industry, as well as the specialist field of work, wall and floor tiling.
Tilers work with materials like ceramic, glass, slate, marble and clay. They cut these materials and lay tiles on walls and floors, both interior and exterior. They may also add decorative touches to their basic work.

To be awarded the CPC31320 Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling, students must successfully complete 20 units of competency (17 core and 3 electives).

Note: As each unit is delivered as a stand-alone unit, students who do not successfully achieve competency in all 20 required units for this qualification will not be awarded the full qualification. However, students who successfully achieve competency in some units of this qualification will be issued a Statement of Attainment for those individual units.
Graduates of this qualification can work as Wall and Floor Tilers in residential and commercial projects. Employment opportunities exist with building contractors, renovation companies, or through self-employment as licensed tilers.
Each unit will be assessed using a combination of assessment resources and tools which may include compiling portfolios, generating reports, scenarios, role-plays, demonstrations/observations within simulated workplace environments, case studies, questions and answers.
